Review Text

If you're a fan of Asterix you won't like this. If you're not a fan why would you buy it? It is not the usual Asterix comic book style format, which is the way the wit and fun of Asterix is delivered, but this is a selection of pictures accompanied by descriptive text. A bit like watching a film with the sound switched off and somebody describing what's going on... only half of the film is missing. I know a version of this in the usual Asterix format exists because I read it as a child. Given that that exists why would they produce a book like this? Utterly pointless.

This is the book of the film so not set out in the usual cartoon strip format. It has chunks of writing with accompanying pictures. The quality of the print isn't the best but the storyline is good (the film is more enjoyable to watch). Sadly, the copy I got was defective. The last 10 pages of the book had been put in the book upside down and back to front!

Book of the film - really only purchased because I wanted a full set of Asterix books.

This was bought as a gift for a young girl who is a massive fan of Asterix. The only difference is that the format is more of a 'book' than a graphic novel.

Still a kid at heart, and the twelve tasks is a classic Asterix book
