Review Text

This tale develops steadily to its somewhat inevitable climax. Zealous reporter on trail of rogue politician is caught in an ambush of his car. She has life threatening injuries, his driver is killed and he was shot. Its up to Will to follow enigmatic clues she has left behind. As the book progresses all is not what it seems and the plot twists and turns right up to the end. The misdirections in the early sections are laid on a bit thick making the reveals in the later sections seem a bit like cheating. A good flowing story nevertheless.

Super read. I only put it down as it was 3 am and I figured I best get to sleep. Loads of tension and an ending I didn't see coming. Already added all of Rachel Amphlett's other books to my Amazon Wish List. There were some moments when I thought the main protagonist did some stupid things but overall actions and dialogue were very good. Why not 5★? I am a harsh critic and a book has to really wow me to get 5★, so 4★ is still a glowing review.

This young woman CAN write thrillers with interesting plots. I have read four of her books and not been disappointed with any of them. They hold you, then tease you with the twists and turns of the story. I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys their thrillers.

Have read books by this writer before but this was the best yet. Kept you guessing right up to the last page. A truly gripping story and one I couldn't put down read it in two nights. Would recommend anyone who likes a thriller to read it.

Fast paced well written and unpredictable end. Revenge always has a price occasionally too costly. All within a week. Hopefully subsequent thrillers meet this standard.

  • By Irish Brown on 18 April 2017

An enjoyable book with twists and turns. I'll definitely be reading more by this author.
