As you may know, a pavilion is a building like a summer house in a park, or somewhere for relaxing ormaybe havingstrawberries and cream... However, a FOXES' pavilion is a different thing altogether. Find out how four foxes have to make their way to The Pavilion, before it's too late.Bounty, Bramble, Feelteen and Crustle are all fox cubs - brothers and sisters. And when they arrive at Bluebell Woods for the first time (after living alone in a city), they are met with a huge problem. Can they untangle a mystery which has been forgotten for centuries? Is there any hope - or is this mystery a myth? Along their way, they encounter a series of dilemmas, unexpected situations, and animals who are not who they make out to be... This is a book suitable for children - especially for those who like problem solving and code cracking...

'Foxes' Pavilion' is Victoria Synek Herd's first completed novel; the rough outline for the story was first thought up when she was just nine years old. This novel, written for children aged 7-11, but also enjoyed by grown-ups, totals over 68,000 words and for the main part was written in one month - a massive achievement considering that she was just 13 years old at the time of its publication. As well as having a very vivid imagination and the ability to handle quite complex elements in her writing, Victoria is also a gifted artist who sold her first painting, of some fishermen in Whitby Harbour, when she was only seven and a half years old. A copy of this painting still graces her family's living room, above the fire place and is much admired by all who visit. 'When she grows up' she wants to be an author/illustrator, a teacher (she is passionate about sharing her skills and enthusiasm to young children) or a marine biologist (and possibly all of these things!) She is well on her way!

A remarkable story from such a young author. The style with which it is written gives a sense of immediacy, as if one were there, caught up with the fox family, as well as an authenticity of tone. I can confirm that my young daughter was gripped by the clever and original story from start to finish, and just one improvement is possible:please create a new edition with drawings: that would be even better!

The book was entertaining and held my interest, well written and informative. The author has taken great pains to keep the story modern and in tune with the fox population as it exists in our society, well done. I would not hesitate to buy this book for any of the younger members of my family, also many adults may enjoy this read. I think this author has a future in literature!
